On March 21, in Zagreb National and University Library’s small lobby, an exhibition was officially opened bringing together the works from the "St. Jerome" art colony, held as part of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Split-Dalmatia County.

On behalf of the host, Library’s general director, prof. Ivanka Stričević Ph.D., who pointed out that St. Jerome, in addition to being the patron of Glagolitic script and Glagolitism, is also recorded, in hagiographical texts and poetry, as a saint protecting his homeland, Dalmatia.

The exhibition was then presented by author of the texts, Josip Belamarić Ph.D., and University of Split’s rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D. and Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County, Blaženko Boban, gave speeches. All of them, among other things, pointed out the uniqueness of our "paradise on earth" - Marjan hill - which hosted top artists and lent them its backdrop for reflection and creation.

Republic of Croatia’s Minister of Culture and Media, Nina Obuljen Koržinek Ph.D., before opening the exhibition, thanked all the artists who contributed and pointed out how proud she is that Split-Dalmatia County celebrated its 30th anniversary with this art colony.

Works presented at the exhibition, inspired by Saint Jerome, were created by artists Goran Balić, Ana Marija Botteri, Duje Botteri, Josip Botteri Dini, Željko Bubalo, Alma Čače, Vladimir Davidenko, Nikola Džaja, Lili Gluić, Karin Grenc, Marko Gugić, Kažimir Hraste, Petar Jakelić, Kuzma Kovačić, Ivan Listeš, Đani Martinić, Duje Matetić, Zvonimir Mihanović, Matko Mijić, Tea Morić Šitum, Hrvoje Marko Peruzović, Dijana Iva Sesartić, Frane Šitum and Vice Tomasović.

Vocal artist Vlatko Belas enhanced the exhibition’s opening with his performance.
